Basilica di Sant’Antonio

The custodian lists relics including the tongue and jawbone in the Treasury Chapel. This is distinct from the saint’s tomb.

Two spaces in one basilica

The main tomb is in Anthony’s Chapel. The Relics Chapel displays selected remains and objects, including vocal apparatus relics and the habit reported by the custodian. One building name does not mean every object is at one altar.

Reading the transfer chronology

The custodian distinguishes the 1263 examination, 1310 transfer, 1350 jaw-reliquary donation and 1981 examination. A container’s date can differ greatly from the saint’s death. That distinction helps interpret the object in view.
